ClassicVehicleLog
An electronic Logbook for classic cars and motorcycles
The
entrance window where you add or select your vehicle.
New
vehicles are added by giving these a name and clicking at ’Add’. After this the
vehicle will turn up in the selection list.
The
picture at the right is the default entrance-picture. This can be changed to
your own in the setup-menu.
By
clicking once at a given vehicle the picture will be changed with a picture
defined in the setting for the vehicle.
By double-clicking at a vehicle in the
selection-list you will enter the main-menu for the vehicle:
The
main menu for a vehicle.
The
upper part is basic information grouped logically under tabs
The
grey fields under some of the tabs are fields where the system is returning
data.
At
the right a picture is seen. That is the picture that you will get at the entrance-panel
by single-clicking at the vehicle. You can change it as you may wish.
The
bottom tabs are for registration/display of events.
This
example shows the periodic tasks under the last tab at the basic information.
Please
notice that I have defined a task called ’Service’, that is going to be
performed every 12 months or
The
4 horizontal bars with green marking is symbolising, how close these task are
to have to be performed.
Here
is seen how you by single left-click in any field on the events, can bring up a
small pop-up menu, from which you can see details for events , make new events
or delete existing ones.
Let’s try to show details for a
repair-event :
Panel
for events :
Here
are seen details for an existing event. The number of fields will vary
depending upon which type of event is selected.
At
the bottom is shown how many pictures and detail-lines exist for that
particular event.
It
is seen that this event is hosting 2 pictures. At the right side there are 3
picture-frames with a scroll-bar, and with the help of this it is easy to
browse through the pictures. By clicking at any one of these pictures a small
pop-up is shown, from which you can see the picture in full size by means of
Windows default picture viewer.
If you want to add more pictures or remove
some of them, you just click at ‘Handle pictures’.
Let’s try
:
Add/remove
pictures for event.
In
the large box there will be a line for each picture that is connected to this
event. If you click at one of these lines, the picture will be shown at the right
side in the picture box. As in other panels, you can single-click on that
picture-frame and get a small pop-up that will allow you to see the picture in
full-size, using Windows default picture-viewer.
To
remove a picture from an event, you just click on the proper line in the
list-box, and then click at the ’Remove picture from event”. The physical
picture file is still on disk, it is only removed from the event.
To
add a new picture to an event, you just pick it by using Windows explorer, that
is opened by clicking at the ’browse’-button. When the proper picture is
selected, you just click on ‘Add picture to event’, and you will see the
picture appear in the selection-box.
Add/remove
detail-lines for event.
At
exactly the same way you can click at ’Add/remove detaillines’ in the
event-panel and in this way enter the panel shown above.
In
the upper selection-box you can see existing detail-lines and by clicking one
of these, its details will be shown. You can type in information as supplier,
price and parts number, so that you can re-find this information at a later
point in time.
Setup-panel
for the system.
Here
you can type in license-information. When you buy the system, you will get
license key that is bound with the ‘license-name’. License-name will normally
be the user’s email-address.
For
evaluation purposes you just put in the value DEMO in both fields, and this
will give full functionality. Sole limitation is that max 10 events can be
added !
Finally
you pick language (at the time of typing English or Danish); a path for your
data-files and you might want to choose another entrance-picture.
When
the system is installed, you will automatically be guided into this setup on
the first time you start up the system. Primary to pick language.
Click
at ’save changes’ and the system is ready for use !
